Job summary

BEC Poland is recruiting for a Post-Trade Harmonization Initiative role combining COBOL and Java development on IBM z/OS. You will engage with analysts and customers to capture requirements, analyze existing solutions, and propose maintainable approaches while working with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

The role emphasizes strong mainframe skills, architectural collaboration, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Experience with IBM z/OS mainframe stack including COBOL, CICS, MQ, DB2, JCL.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and code reviews.
• Fluency in English.
• Analytical thinking and problem decomposition.
• Experience documenting functional and non-functional requirements.
• Clear communication across teams and stakeholders.
• Curiosity, proactivity and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Business Analysts and customers to capture requirements.
• Analyze existing solution, document gaps and develop maintainable solutions.
• Demonstrate collaborative, self-driven mindset across teams and levels.
• Align with Product Owners on priorities across teams.
• Break down features into actionable user stories and participate in Agile events.
• Collaborate with QA to ensure solutions are well tested.
• Coordinate with Team Architect on design and architectural documentation.
