Job summary

Charles River Development (CRD), the FinTech division of State Street, is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise applications within an agile team. You will blend strong Java and backend skills with practical ML/NLP experience to integrate AI services, implement secure architectures, and drive reliable, observable software in production.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience in enterprise Java development lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of core Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, relational databases, and Kafka.
• Solid understanding of ML and NLP fundamentals (classification, embeddings, tokenization, outputs).
• Familiarity with LLM/Transformer concepts, prompting, context handling, and AI integration.
• Excellent problem-solving and cross-team communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, test, and maintain complex Java-based enterprise software.
• Design scalable backend services and contribute to core framework evolution.
• Integrate ML models and AI services into enterprise apps.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and architects to meet business needs.
• Guide design discussions, code reviews, and production troubleshooting.
