Job summary

intent is seeking a Senior QA Engineer for freelance, time & material projects focusing on mobile QA for IoT-enabled devices. You’ll be paid by hours worked on real client projects; the first three months assess fit, with a path to a permanent contract and full benefits if successful.

We’re remote with flexible hours, including late US calls. After three months, a fixed monthly salary and full benefits kick in, along with paid leave, medical care, and a training budget.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional mobile QA experience.
• Proven experience testing IoT systems: wearables, consumer devices, or connected audio.
• Familiarity with IoT protocols: Bluetooth, BLE, NFC, Wi-Fi, Thread.
• English at B2+, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Compatibility testing: ensure devices, sensors, gateways, protocols, and platforms work together.
• Functional testing: data collection, storage, processing, real-time monitoring, control, integrations.
• Performance testing: behavior under different workloads, networks, physical conditions; identify bottlenecks.
• Security testing: vulnerabilities in devices, communication protocols, transmission, storage, access, auth.
• Mentor less experienced testers, raise QA practices.
• Participate in requirement discussions and daily calls; flag inconsistencies early.
• Share knowledge inside QA chapter and across the company.
• Use AI tools as part of daily workflow, not as a gimmick.
