Job summary

your Jared is seeking a backend engineer who shapes architecture and direction, not just writes code. You’ll own the technical direction end-to-end for IoT projects—data ingestion, API design, and cloud infrastructure.

This is freelance, time & material work with full capacity from day one; the first three months determine fit, and there is a real path to a permanent contract if things align. We’re AI-native, fully remote, with a pet-friendly Warsaw office for when you want it.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend development with leadership responsibilities.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical decisions.
• Strong experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and cloud architectures.
• Hands-on experience designing data pipelines and APIs.
• Excellent communication for client-facing technical trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve backend architecture for IoT projects.
• Make and defend technical trade-offs to team and clients.
• Design and maintain cloud infra on AWS with reliability.
• Lead architecture reviews, RFCs, and post-mortems.
• Mentor backend engineers and improve code quality.
• Collaborate with firmware, mobile, QA, PMs, and clients.
