Job summary

Virtusa is seeking an experienced QA professional for localization and internationalization testing, with a focus on mobile and physical devices. You will validate UI across languages, coordinate with linguists, and ensure robust testing across the SDLC.

A remote role offering exposure to global projects and diverse technology stacks. You will work with TMS tools and defect tracking systems to ensure accurate reports and high-quality releases.

Qualifications

• Internationalization and Localization Experience
• Device Testing: Smart Home and Health including smartwatches, health trackers, smart displays, speakers, home security cameras, and camera doorbells.
• Hands-on localization and i18n testing with a focus on mobile and physical devices.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and QA best practices.
• Ability to think and execute testing from a user’s perspective
• Technical i18n knowledge: encoding, ICU, CLDR, JSON/XML/.po/.strings/XLIFF, and BiDi/RTL
• L10n testing best practices: truncation, text overlap, line wrapping, font rendering
• OS & Tool Knowledge: iOS (TestFlight, Xcode logs) and Android (ADB, Logcat) ecosystems
• Familiarity with accessibility testing standards (WCAG, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
• Translation Management Systems (Smartling, Phrase, Crowdin, Transifex) and Jira
• Language Skills: English; additional languages a plus
• Core QA Expertise: SDLC, STLC, QA best practices
• Agile/Scrum methodologies and QA processes
• Regulatory/privacy standards across markets (EMEA, APAC, LATAM)

Responsibilities

• Device & Hardware Testing: verify functionality across iOS/Android and smart devices.
• Test Execution & Coverage: develop, update, and run test plans and cases.
• Compatibility Testing across system versions and hardware specs.
• Defect Management: report bugs with logs, steps, screenshots, and videos.
• Regression & Sanity Testing before releases to ensure stability.
• Internationalization Testing: ensure multi-locale enablement without code changes.
• Localization Testing: validate translated UI elements across languages.
• Pseudo-Localization: catch hard coded strings early in development.
• Linguistic & UI Quality Verification: coordinate with linguists for reviews.
• TMS & Localization Tooling: manage translation workflows with TMS and CI.
