Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Poland Sp. z o.o. is seeking a Senior GIS Tools Specialist to create and maintain systems ensuring data excellence for flagship Geo offerings, focusing on the main mapping product.

You will serve as a technical consultant, guiding Geo teams, transitioning tools to production, and shaping the roadmap for operational workflows, with opportunities to lead tool updates and AI integrations.

Qualifications

• 5–6 years experience in large-scale geographic data products.
• Advanced GIS with spatial analysis and data pipelines (ArcGIS Desktop/Server preferred).
• Proficiency in ESRI Enterprise and FME-based spatial workflows.
• Strong Python and SQL skills; JavaScript or front-end tooling knowledge.
• AI familiarity (LLMs, prompt engineering, cloud/CLI); senior roles expect AI & cloud.
• Experience with GitHub and machine learning platforms (Vertex AI).
• Experience with spatial ETL, data validation, GeoJSON/Shapefiles.
• Ability to lead, communicate with execs, and drive tool deployments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and troubleshoot software/tools across cross-functional teams.
• Act as technical expert for Geo teams, removing blockers.
• Define bug reporting, track issues, and communicate to leadership.
• Plan tool updates and assess risks.
• Lead testing for new features and fixes for global use.
• Write high-quality code and establish coding standards.
• Build tools/integrations, REST APIs, and backend interfaces.
• Deploy AI solutions to enhance tools and efficiency.
• Maintain GIS platforms, pipelines, and data quality.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle, architecture, and delivery.
