Job summary

Cognizant Poland in Kraków is hiring a Tools Specialist to join our data quality and operations team for core online Geo products. You will act as the liaison between the Operations and Engineering teams and ensure the smooth technical functioning of the Geo tooling.

Responsibilities include diagnosing tool and hardware issues, coordinating releases, testing fixes and new features, and developing dashboards and tools to support Geo Operators and Program Managers.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in a related domain.
• ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Server experience.
• Scripting knowledge in Python and SQL.
• Proficiency with AI tools is a plus.
• Nice to have Github and FME familiarity.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and proactive problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently.

• Collaborate with GDO and software engineering to file bugs and communicate issues.
• Coordinate tool releases and updates as needed.
• Test tool fixes, changes, and new features for engineers.

• Develop new tools and dashboards as needed.
• Diagnose global geo problems related to software/Linux.
• Respond to support tickets and perform debugging and escalation.

About the role

The team is responsible for data quality and support operations of core online Geo products. A Tools Specialist is the liaison between the Operations team and Engineering team and responsible for ensuring the smooth technical functioning of the Ops teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve tools and/or hardware problems: Diagnose and resolve complex problems discovered in tools/ products,
• Act as a technology expert for Geo Operators and Program Managers, removing technical obstacles and resolving user-reported problems,
• Work closely with GDO program management and software engineering teams to appropriately file bugs and elevate issues, ensure reproducibility, and communicate user issues,
• Coordinate tool releases and new updates (as needed),
• Test tool fixes/changes/new features for engineers,
• Submit code changes for tools (as needed),
• Develop new tools/Dashboard as needed by the teams,
• Diagnose global geo problems related to software/Linux,
• Respond to support tickets for technical issues (bugs, latency, tool issues) and perform debugging, analysis, and elevate bugs that negatively impact operations according to the thresholds established in a timely and clear way.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar domain,
• ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server experience,
• Scripting knowledge – Python and SQL experience,
• Proficiency in AI tools,
• Nice to have – Github, FME,
• Min. High school graduate or equivalent,
• Technological savviness,
• Availability to work on the weekends (1-2 days/month),
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to operate and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the business,
• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail,
• Able to work independently, motivated, proactive attitude with a passion for learning and creative problem-solving.
