Job summary

HedgeServ is seeking a Fund Accounting Assistant Vice President to oversee NAV calculations and supervise a team of up to 20 specialists. You will work under a VP/MD, guiding strategic planning, client relationships, and ensuring strict control environments.

The role emphasizes leadership, staff development, and contributing to fund audits and complex product accounting. Remote/hybrid options are available, with strong emphasis on collaboration across Investor Services and Compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance.
• 9 years’ experience in a Hedge Fund Administration Firm with at least 3 at Manager level.
• Intention to actively pursue ACCA, CIMA, CPA or ACA – advantageous but not required.
• IT literate.
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong systems, product and process knowledge.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to be flexible and work effectively in a team or independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Take ownership and demonstrate leadership.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team of Assistant Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents and Managing Directors.
• Support the Vice President in strategic planning for assigned fund accounting teams.
• Manage client relationships ensuring consistency of service.
• Ensure the fund accounting team operates within defined control environment.
• Manage and develop client teams of up to 20 employees.
• Resolve fund accounting enquiries escalated by the Fund Accounting Manager.
• Review daily and monthly NAV calculations.
• Develop and improve NAV calculation workflows and procedures.
• Review NAV process including fee calculations, P&L allocations, complex instruments, documentation, client requests.
• Manage audit process and preparation of fund financial statements.
• Investigate accounting implications of new products.
• Manage client initialization and transition.
• Participate in fund accounting training development.
• Recruit, train and evaluate fund accounting staff.
