Job summary

Ocado Group is hiring a Data Engineer to build and operate data pipelines, services, and analytics infrastructure across Ocado Smart Platform and Ocado Mobile Robotics Solutions. You will modernise platforms, manage Terraform/OpenTofu IaC, and optimise Airflow and cloud resources for cost efficiency and reliability.

You’ll collaborate with distributed teams, ensure live services are robust, and contribute to secure interfaces for stakeholders while advancing data capabilities across Ocado Group.

Qualifications

• Proven software engineering experience in Python.
• Hands-on IaC experience with Terraform or similar tools.
• Strong DevOps practices including CI/CD and version control.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate data pipelines, APIs, and services for analytics across platforms.
• Write and evolve IaC for cloud environments.
• Tune Airflow and optimise BigQuery usage to reduce costs and improve performance.
• Maintain reliable, customer-facing data applications with high uptime.
