Jacobs in Poland is seeking a Senior/Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and operate Snowflake-based data platforms at enterprise scale. You will lead end-to-end migrations, architect scalable data pipelines, and enforce governance and DataOps practices.

You will mentor Data Engineers, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive production readiness across complex data environments, with a hybrid work model and international projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering roles, including leadership.
• Hands-on experience leading migrations from legacy to modern cloud platforms.
• Snowflake: data modeling, ELT patterns, and performance optimization.
• Strong Python and advanced SQL.
• MS Azure cloud workloads and data orchestration with Airflow.
• Streaming/event-driven architectures (Kafka).
• Relational databases such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Decoupled, scalable data architectures and reusable integration patterns.
• Data governance: quality, lineage, security.
• Ownership mindset with enterprise-scale design; strong communication with stakeholders.
• Excellent communication with architects and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate Snowflake-based data platforms.
• Lead end-to-end migration of data infrastructure from legacy to modern platforms.
• Design scalable architectures and reusable integration patterns.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines (batch and real time).
• Integrate and manage large datasets from multiple sources.
• Automate data pipelines to improve stability and maintainability.
• Design monitoring, alerting, and error handling frameworks.
• Run PoC initiatives and scale to production rollouts.
• Plan migration cutovers with parallel runs and data reconciliation.
• Define data architectures for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Define and apply data governance practices (quality, lineage, security).
• Implement CI/CD, testing, DataOps, observability.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and stakeholders.
• Mentor Data Engineers and conduct code/design reviews.
• Contribute to platform standards and technical evolution.
• Ensure data quality and integrity during migration with validation.
