Job summary

Jit is seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer to own a Snowflake-based data platform, consolidate platforms, and support its ongoing development. You will build and maintain data pipelines, data models and Power BI reporting, ensuring data quality, security and governance while working independently.

You will work with AWS, dbt, Python and SQL to design scalable architectures, create semantic Power BI models, and collaborate with Finance and Risk on data requirements.

Qualifications

• Fluent, professional English (written and spoken).
• Experience in financial services, trading or fintech.
• Extensive hands-on data engineering experience with end-to-end ownership of at least two production data platforms.
• Proven ability to remain hands-on, writing code and delivering work independently.
• Experience with long-term engagements (≥2 years).
• Availability to work full-time during UK business hours and travel to London regularly.
• Strong Snowflake production experience including warehouse design, sizing, clustering, and security.
• Expert SQL skills including Snowflake optimization and dimensional modeling.
• 2+ years of production experience with dbt (sources, snapshots, tests, macros, CI/CD).
• 3+ years of production experience with Power BI (DAX, Power Query, semantic models).
• Experience with AWS data workloads and Python.
• Data quality monitoring, governance, and PII protection per FCA/GDPR.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of the existing Snowflake data platform and the partially developed new platform.
• Consolidate both platforms into one stable solution supporting all business departments.
• Develop, maintain and optimise production data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, SQL, Python and AWS.
• Design scalable data models and Snowflake warehouse architecture.
• Develop and maintain Power BI reports and advanced DAX solutions.
• Monitor data quality, pipeline performance, and platform costs.
• Implement data governance, security controls, and PII protection.
• Collaborate with Finance, Risk and other departments to understand data needs.
• Coordinate with infrastructure on AWS-based data workloads.
• Contribute to Data Working Group to improve architecture and practices.
