Job summary

Jacobs Solutions Inc. seeks a Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and operate Snowflake-based data platforms at enterprise scale within a hybrid work model in Kraków.

You will own data integration strategies, ETL/ELT processes, and data pipelines, leading a team of engineers to ensure scalable, reliable data solutions aligned with business needs. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, architecture ownership, and strong collaboration with stakeholders to deliver production-grade data solutions

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering or platform engineering roles (lead or senior)
• Hands-on Snowflake experience including data modeling and performance tuning
• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Experience with MS Azure cloud
• Proficient with data orchestration tools (Airflow) and ETL/ELT design
• Experience with streaming/event-driven architectures (Kafka)
• Experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL
• Proven ability to design decoupled, scalable data architectures and reusable integration patterns
• Knowledge of data governance, quality, lineage, and security
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Snowflake-based data platforms supporting analytics and reporting workloads
• Lead end-to-end migration of data infrastructure from legacy to modern cloud platforms
• Design scalable architectures and reusable integration patterns
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines (batch and real-time)
• Integrate and manage large datasets from multiple sources
• Automate data pipelines to improve stability and maintainability
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and error handling for data pipelines
• Run PoC initiatives and evolve them into production rollouts
• Plan migration cutovers with data reconciliation and rollback strategies
• Define data governance practices including quality, lineage, and security
• Contribute to DataOps with CI/CD, testing, and observability
• Mentor Data Engineers and contribute to team growth
• Collaborate with architects, owners, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
