Job summary

Commerzbank in Łódź is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines for sales analytics. You will build robust data models, ensure data quality, and optimize pipelines on Google Cloud Platform while applying agentic AI and GenAI techniques to automate and accelerate engineering tasks.

You will work closely with data scientists and business analysts to translate data requirements into actionable insights that support sales steering and customer relationship

Qualifications

• Strong SQL knowledge and data modelling experience.
• Experience with cloud data platforms, preferably GCP.
• Proficient in Python for data engineering tasks.
• Familiarity with agentic AI concepts and GenAI tooling.
• English level B2 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient ETL processes and pipelines to integrate data from diverse sources.
• Implement robust data models ensuring quality, consistency, and accessibility for sales analytics.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance and cost efficiency.
• Architect scalable data infrastructure on GCP; leverage cloud-native data services.
• Apply CI/CD pipelines, version control, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Explore agentic AI concepts to automate and self-correct data workflows.
• Utilize GenAI to accelerate data engineering tasks including code/data schema generation and testing.
• Evaluate AI-assisted tools to boost productivity in pipeline creation and debugging.
• Collaborate with data scientists and business analysts to deliver impactful data solutions.

Join our team as a Senior Data Engineer!

Are you experienced in database engineering and leveraging cloud-based technologies? Join our dynamic and innovative team in the Sales Analytics Cluster, where we turn data into actionable insights using the latest advanced analytics and AI solutions. In this role, you will contribute to optimizing and managing our data ecosystem, collaborating with experts to design and deliver innovative solutions that empower the bank's sales steering and customer relationship management.

What you will be doing?

• Design, develop, and maintain highly efficient and scalable ETL processes and data pipelines to integrate data from diverse sources.
• Implement robust data models, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility for sales analytics.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing data pipelines and systems to ensure performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Architect and implement scalable and resilient data infrastructure on our GCP infrastructure, utilizing cloud-native data services. Optimize current solutions.
• Apply software engineering best practices, including version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Leverage your understanding of agentic AI concepts to explore and implement solutions that can automate, optimize, and self-correct data pipelines.
• Apply Generative AI (GenAI) techniques and tools to accelerate data engineering workflows, including automated code generation for ETL scripts, data schema creation, intelligent data quality rule definition, and synthetic data generation for testing.
• Help evaluate and integrate AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity in data engineering tasks like pipeline creation, code generation, and troubleshooting.
• Work closely with data scientists and business analysts to understand data requirements and deliver impactful data solutions.

Which technologies & skills are important for us?

• Very good knowledge of SQL: Expertise in querying, designing, and managing relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Very good knowledge of Cloud Solutions (GCP is an asset) understanding database security and scaling in cloud environments.
• Very good knowledge of Python
• Knowledge of Agentic AI
• English level B2 or higher

Nice to have:

• Google Cloud Platform knowledge
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies: Understanding of tools like Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Data Lakes for storing and processing large datasets.
