Job summary

Commerzbank Digital Technology Centre Poland is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes. You will work within the Sales Analytics Cluster to turn data into actionable insights for sales steering and CRM and collaborate with data scientists and analysts.

The role emphasizes cloud-native data infrastructure on GCP, modern data modeling, and applying AI-driven techniques, including GenAI for code generation and data quality rules.

Qualifications

• Very good knowledge of SQL: querying, designing and managing relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
• Very good knowledge of Cloud Solutions (GCP is an asset) and scaling in cloud environments.
• Very good knowledge of Python.
• Knowledge of Agentic AI.
• English level B2 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines from diverse sources.
• Implement data models ensuring quality, consistency, and accessibility for sales analytics.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Architect scalable data infrastructure on GCP using cloud-native services and optimize existing solutions.
• Apply software engineering practices including Git, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Leverage agentic AI concepts to automate and optimize data pipelines.
• Apply GenAI techniques for automated code generation, data schema creation, and synthetic data testing.
• Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity in data engineering tasks.
• Collaborate with data scientists and business analysts to understand data requirements and deliver impactful solutions.

Join our team as a Senior Data Engineer!

Are you experienced in database engineering and leveraging cloud-based technologies? Join our dynamic and innovative team in the Sales Analytics Cluster, where we turn data into actionable insights using the latest advanced analytics and AI solutions. In this role, you will contribute to optimizing and managing our data ecosystem, collaborating with experts to design and deliver innovative solutions that empower the bank’s sales steering and customer relationship management.

What you will be doing?

• Design, develop, and maintain highly efficient and scalable ETL processes and data pipelines to integrate data from diverse sources.
• Implement robust data models, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility for sales analytics.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing data pipelines and systems to ensure performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Architect and implement scalable and resilient data infrastructure on our GCP infrastructure, utilizing cloud-native data services. Optimize current solutions.
• Apply software engineering best practices, including version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Leverage your understanding of agentic AI concepts to explore and implement solutions that can automate, optimize, and self-correct data pipelines.
• Apply Generative AI (GenAI) techniques and tools to accelerate data engineering workflows, including automated code generation for ETL scripts, data schema creation, intelligent data quality rule definition, and synthetic data generation for testing.
• Help evaluate and integrate AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity in data engineering tasks like pipeline creation, code generation, and troubleshooting.
• Work closely with data scientists and business analysts to understand data requirements and deliver impactful data solutions.

Which technologies & skills are important for us?

The Sales Analytics cluster as a part of the BDAA key area services the segments corporate customers as well as private and business customers. We combine and consolidate the bank's data to identify customer needs and transform them to sales opportunities using customized analytical models.
