Job summary

Commerzbank AG is seeking a mid‑level Software Developer focused on data‑driven solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will design and develop data models, data pipelines, and reports/dashboards using GCP technologies and BI platforms such as Power BI and MS Fabric.

Your work will be supported by dedicated Operations Engineers, with emphasis on clean architecture, robust implementations, and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience designing data models and data pipelines on GCP.
• Ability to design dashboards and reports using modern BI platforms.
• Familiarity with data governance and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop data driven solutions on GCP for reports and dashboards.
• Build data workflows and architectures to support analytics use cases (BigQuery/dbt/Dataform).
• Create and maintain data pipelines (Python/SQL) and data quality checks.
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards on Power BI and MS Fabric.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and code reviews.
• Assist in debugging and optimizing data processing jobs.

Description of the cluster:

The Big Data cluster is the enabler for data scientists and provides a huge collection of data and a data science workbench in one place.

The cluster Global Financial Crime Prevention Platform provides a global and holistic IT platform for Transaction Monitoring, Customer Screening including the data provisioning platform. We are a team of around ten people, combining developers and operations in a relaxed, highly supportive environment – with colleagues in Łódź and Germany and internal stakeholders across Asia, the Americas and Europe. Using GCP, BigQuery and modern BI platforms, we build stable reporting solutions with a focus on Compliance and Non Financial Risks, making a tangible contribution to combating financial crime. You will be responsible for

We are looking for a mid‑level Software Developer focused on data‑driven solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In our reporting team, you will design and develop data models, data pipelines, and reports/dashboards based on GCP technologies and modern BI platforms (in particular Power BI / MS Fabric).

Your solutions will later be operated by dedicated Operations Engineers, so we place strong emphasis on clean architecture, robust implementations, solid test coverage and clear documentation.

• Design and develop data driven solutions on GCP as the foundation for reports and dashboards
• Design and implement data workflows and data architectures (e.g. for BigQuery / dbt / Dataform) to support reporting and analytics use cases
• Implement data pipelines and processes (e.g. using Cloud Composer, dbt, Dataform, Python, SQL)
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards on modern BI platforms (e.g. Power BI, ideally MS Fabric)
• Ensure software quality by executing technical and functional tests (unit, integration, system tests)
• Automate process chains, including integration of different tools and interfaces (APIs)
• Perform debugging and bug fixing for productive solutions and conduct ad hoc data analyses for internal customers
• Contribute to and work with CI/CD pipelines (including pull requests, code reviews, automated tests)
• Support production issues (2nd level support) in close collaboration with Operations Engineers

Which technology & skills are important for us?

• Good knowledge of Google Cloud Platform
• Good knowledge of Python programming
• Good knowledge of SQLExperience with BI Platforms
• Basic understanding or willingness to learn JIRA, Confluence and GIT
• English B2.
