Job summary

Anshar Studios is seeking a Senior/Mid Character Artist to join our on-site team in Katowice, Poland. You will design high-quality 3D characters, including clothing and accessories, and mentor junior artists while collaborating with Directors and Animators on demanding international projects.

The role requires 3+ years in AA/AAA studios, proficiency in ZBrush/Blender/Maya/3ds Max, Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine, plus English and Polish fluency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in character creation for gaming in AA/AAA studios.
• Strong sculpting and modeling skills for organic and hard-surface elements.
• Proficiency in Marvelous Designer for garment creation.
• Proficiency in Substance Painter and PBR texturing workflows.
• Basic Unreal Engine knowledge for asset integration and optimization.
• At least one shipped title focusing on character art.
• Ability to give clear, constructive feedback to teammates.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).
• Fluent Polish (spoken and written).
• Willingness to work on-site in Katowice, Poland.

Responsibilities

• Design and create high-quality 3D characters, including clothing and accessories.
• Review and mentor Junior Character Artists to support growth.
• Use Marvelous Designer for realistic garments.
• Model and sculpt organic and hard-surface characters in ZBrush, Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
• Create textures and materials with PBR workflows for Unreal Engine.
• Optimize characters for real-time performance and proper topology.
• Ensure seamless integration with rigs and in-game functionality.
• Collaborate with Art Directors, Team Leads, Concept Artists and Animators to tell cohesive stories.
