Job summary

Anshar Studios S.A. in Katowice, Poland, is seeking a Senior/Mid Character Artist to join our on-site team. You will design and refine high-quality characters for international projects, mentor juniors, and collaborate with a passionate team across departments to deliver cohesive storytelling.

The role requires strong sculpting and garment skills, proficiency with Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine basics, plus English communication and Polish fluency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in character creation for AA/AAA games.
• Sculpting and modeling organic and hard-surface characters.
• Marvelous Designer for garment creation.
• Substance Painter and PBR texturing workflow expertise.
• Unreal Engine asset integration and optimization basics.
• At least one shipped title focusing on character art.
• Clear, constructive feedback to junior artists.
• English communication and fluent Polish

Responsibilities

• Design and create high-quality 3D characters with clothing and accessories.
• Review junior character artists and provide constructive feedback.
• Use Marvelous Designer to simulate garments for characters.
• Model and sculpt in ZBrush, Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
• Texture with PBR workflows in Substance Painter.
• Optimize characters for real-time performance and rig compatibility.
• Collaborate with Art Directors, Leads, and Animators to align with styles.
