Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior C++ Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance software solutions for our cutting-edge products. You will contribute to architectural decisions and ensure code quality throughout the full software development lifecycle.

You will lead complex module design, optimize performance in distributed systems, mentor junior engineers, perform code reviews, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines while staying current with new technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in C++ software development.
• Strong proficiency in C++11/14/17/20, including OO design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with multi-threading, concurrency, and performance optimization.
• Solid understanding of operating systems concepts (Linux/Unix preferred) and network programming.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (Google Test) and debugging tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with embedded systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software modules and applications using C++.
• Architect and optimize software for performance, scalability, and reliability in distributed systems.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.

• Mentor junior developers, providing technical guidance and fostering continuous improvement.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation efforts.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them to enhance software offerings.
