Job summary

Axpo Group is seeking a software engineer to join the Batteries team across Europe. You will architect, develop, and deploy Python back- and front-end applications and integrate the battery optimizer into Axpo's IT infrastructure.

You will enhance our MILP optimization engine for battery projects across different markets, collaborate with internal teams and external providers, and support users with robust engineering practices, CI/CD, testing, and timely software updates.

Qualifications

• University degree in CS/Engineering/Math/Natural Sciences.
• 3+ years of experience in Python or another OO language.
• Experience with backend development in distributed systems using REST APIs and message queues (e.g., FastAPI and Azure Service Bus).
• Infrastructure as code to ship containerized software to the cloud (Terraform, Azure, Docker); GCP a plus.
• CI/CD, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Experience with MILP, Databricks, frontend development, or SQL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and deploy Python back- and front-end applications, integrating the battery optimizer into Axpo's IT infrastructure.
• Improve MILP optimization engine for battery projects across countries and markets.
• Advise and support team members on software engineering best practices and design patterns.
• Collaborate with Europe-wide internal teams and external providers for seamless integration.
• Serve as a point of contact for internal users of the optimization software.
• Coordinate and implement software changes and updates to meet user needs.
