Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Python Engineer to design, implement, and optimize scalable Python solutions in a cloud environment. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, modern software addressing complex business challenges and driving digital transformation.

The position follows a hybrid model with three days in-office across Poland; experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and API design is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of Python development experience with Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Commercial background in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and hands-on cloud services.
• Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless frameworks.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and integrating third‑party services.
• Knowledge of relational (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and non-relational (MongoDB/DynamoDB) databases.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies, Git, and unit testing.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline).

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Python solutions for web applications, APIs, data pipelines, AI/ML models, and automation.
• Design and manage cloud-based architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Create scalable microservices and serverless apps using cloud-native tools.
• Optimize data pipelines with Python and cloud services like Lambda/Functions.
• Promote reliability with best practices, testing, and monitoring.
• Collaborate across product, operations, and engineering to define requirements.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment efficiency in cloud environments.
• Address production issues and improve performance in cloud setups.
• Keep up-to-date with Python trends and cloud advancements.
• Mentor juniors, perform code reviews, and uphold quality standards across the team.
