Job summary

Alarm.com is expanding its Polish engineering presence with a Senior Software Engineer in Kraków. You will lead Android feature development across the mobile app used by millions, driving architecture, performance, and real-time video streaming integration.

You will mentor peers and shape cross-team decisions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll work with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, and backend APIs, applying modern patterns to deliver scalable, production-ready software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong Kotlin proficiency and performance awareness.
• Experience with Android Studio, SDK, and modern architecture patterns.
• Proven track record building production-quality Android apps.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON parsing, and backend integrations.
• Strong async programming with Coroutines/Flow.
• Experience with modular architecture, Gradle, and dependency management.
• Experience with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence technical direction.
• Experience with AI/ML in mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of complex Android features for the flagship app.
• Own full project lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Architect and implement real-time video streaming features (HLS/RTSP/WebRTC).
• Define and enforce best practices for responsive UIs and modern architecture.
• Research and adopt new Android technologies to improve code quality.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through reviews and design discussions.
• Contribute to cross-functional architecture decisions affecting multiple teams.
• Exercise judgment on fast delivery vs. robust scalable solutions.
• Contribute ideas to the product roadmap.
