Job summary

Alarm.com is building a new Krakow-based Android engineering team. We seek a Senior Software Engineer to lead design and implementation of complex Android features for our flagship app used by millions of customers.

You will own architecture from requirements to deployment, mentor engineers, and drive cross-team initiatives across Android, iOS, backend, QA, and product management. The role requires 5+ years of Android development, strong Kotlin skills, experience with MVVM/MVI/modern

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Android development experience
• Proven track record designing and building production-quality, scalable Android applications
• Strong command of asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow
• Experience with modular app architecture, Gradle build systems, and dependency management at scale
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and complex backend service integrations
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical design discussions
• Experience leveraging AI/ML technologies in mobile applications

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex Android features for Alarm.com's flagship mobile application
• Own the full project life cycle — from requirements and architecture to deployment — with cross-team collaboration
• Architect and implement real-time video streaming features using Android media frameworks and protocols
• Define and champion best practices for responsive, performant UIs following Material Design and modern architecture patterns
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and design discussions
• Contribute to cross-functional architecture decisions affecting multiple teams and long-term platform direction
• Drive technical discussions and shape the product roadmap
