Job summary

Alarm.com is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our Krakow mobile team, building the Android app used by millions. You will develop features, handle real-time video streaming, and integrate with backend services across the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of Android development, strong Kotlin skills, MVVM/MVI/MVP, REST APIs, Coroutines/Flow, and Git, with a collaborative mindset. Office-based role with occasional remote work and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• 2+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
• Experience with Android Studio, SDK, and modern architecture patterns.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and backend integration.
• Understanding of asynchronous programming using Coroutines and Flow.
• Experience with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with AI/ML in mobile apps is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop Android features for Alarm.com's flagship mobile application.
• Take part in the entire project life cycle with cross-team collaboration.
• Design and implement real-time video streaming features using Android frameworks (HLS/RTSP).
• Build responsive, performant UIs following Material Design and best practices.
• Research and apply new Android technologies to solve goals.
• Collaborate with product, QA, backend, and iOS teams.
• Other duties as assigned.
