Job summary

Alarm.com is building a Kraków-based mobile team to develop our Android application used by millions. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the design, architecture, and delivery of complex features, including real-time video streaming and IoT device controls, while mentoring engineers and shaping the product roadmap.

You will work with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android media frameworks, and native integrations, in a collaborative, people-first culture that values ownership and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Deep proficiency in Kotlin and Android architecture patterns.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and complex backend service integrations.
• Experience with Android NDK/JNI for native C/C++ code integration.
• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose for modern UI development.
• Familiarity with MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture.]
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical design discussions.
• Knowledge of mobile security best practices and CI/CD for Android.
• Experience with AI/ML technologies in mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex Android features for the flagship mobile app.
• Own the full project life cycle from requirements to deployment with cross-team collaboration.
• Architect and implement real-time video streaming features using Android media frameworks.
• Define and champion best practices for responsive, performant UIs following Material Design.
• Drive evaluation and adoption of new Android technologies to improve code quality.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through reviews and design discussions.
• Contribute to cross-functional architecture decisions affecting multiple teams.
• Shape the product roadmap with senior engineering input.
• Collaborate with IoT and backend teams to deliver integrated features.
• Provide technical leadership and ownership over features from conception to delivery.
