About the role
We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to support and improve the effectiveness of three engineering teams. The role goes beyond facilitating Scrum ceremonies — it requires a strong leadership mindset, change management capabilities, and the ability to drive meaningful improvements in team and organizational effectiveness.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and leadership stakeholders, supporting teams operating in different Agile models and helping them improve collaboration, processes, delivery, and overall effectiveness. While the primary focus will be on the teams, the role also offers an opportunity to influence broader organizational processes, culture, and ways of working.
Requirements
Must-have
- 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master; shorter experience may be considered in exceptional cases.
- Previous experience working in an engineering environment.
- Practical knowledge of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
- A strong and demonstrable leadership mindset, with the ability to influence without relying on formal authority.
- Proven experience in change management and driving organizational or team-level improvements.
- Demonstrated success in implementing change, ideally supported by concrete examples or case studies.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with different leadership and organizational roles.
- Ability to operate in environments where teams may follow different Agile processes or models.
Nice-to-Have
- Knowledge of different Agile scaling frameworks and approaches beyond SAFe.
- Previous leadership experience, e.g. as a Team Lead, Product Owner, or in another leadership role.
- Experience working with engineering and/or hardware teams.
- Experience supporting organizational or cultural transformation.
- Strong knowledge of critical thinking and problem-solving techniques.
- Experience working with team and organizational goals, performance improvement, and process optimization.
- Experience handling escalations and de-escalations between teams and leadership stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Support and develop the effectiveness of three engineering teams, adapting the approach to their specific Agile processes and needs.
- Act as a true servant leader and Agile change agent, rather than focusing solely on Scrum ceremonies and facilitation.
- Identify obstacles, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement within teams and drive sustainable solutions.
- Facilitate process and organizational changes, supporting teams through transformation and new ways of working.
- Work closely with engineering managers, Product Owners, Team Leads, and other leadership roles.
- Support effective escalation and de-escalation of issues and help stakeholders reach constructive solutions.
- Help teams establish and work towards clear goals, improving alignment and accountability.
- Support cultural transformation and promote a collaborative, transparent, and continuous-improvement mindset.
- Apply critical thinking to challenge existing approaches and identify opportunities to improve team and organizational effectiveness.
- Use Agile principles and scaling frameworks to support collaboration across teams and organizational levels.
- Share successful change initiatives and lessons learned, contributing to improvements beyond the teams directly supported.
