Job summary

HRK S.A. in Poland is seeking an experienced RF engineer to design, develop and optimize high-frequency circuits, modules and subsystems for commercial and defense-related applications.

You will lead impedance matching, S-parameter analysis and trusted signal-conditioning chains, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust integration. The role requires hands-on lab work, RF measurements with VNA and spectrum analyzers, and documentation across the full product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong RF/microwave fundamentals incl. impedance matching and S-parameters.
• Experience in RF circuit and subsystem design.
• Knowledge of high-frequency PCB design and controlled-impedance routing.
• Experience with RF simulation tools (ADS, AWR Microwave Office).
• Hands-on RF test equipment experience (VNA, spectrum analyzer).
• Ability to read English technical documents.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Design, develop and optimize RF and microwave circuits, modules and subsystems.
• Design amplifier chains, matching networks and signal-conditioning stages.
• Develop RF PCB designs, including schematic capture, stack-up definition and controlled-impedance layouts.
• Perform RF, microwave and electromagnetic simulations to validate and optimize designs.
• Conduct laboratory measurements, testing, tuning and performance verification of RF hardware.
• Analyze measurement results and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports and design records.
• Support product development throughout the full lifecycle, from concept through validation and production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful product integration.
• Contribute to technical reviews, design improvements and engineering best practices.
• Support regulatory compliance, product qualification and certification activities (e.g., CE, FCC or equivalent standards).
• For senior roles: lead RF architecture development, provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of RF and microwave engineering fundamentals, including impedance matching, S-parameters, noise, gain, linearity and stability.
• Experience in RF circuit and subsystem design.
• Knowledge of high-frequency PCB design principles and controlled-impedance routing.
• Experience with RF simulation and design tools (e.g., ADS, AWR Microwave Office or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience with RF test and measurement equipment (e.g., VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator).
• Ability to perform technical analyses, simulations and performance budgeting.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation in English.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, CST, ADS Momentum).
• Experience working with microwave, millimeter-wave or other high-frequency systems.
• Knowledge of GaAs, GaN or other RF semiconductor technologies.
• Experience with antenna systems, phased arrays or wireless communication systems.
• Familiarity with EMC/EMI design principles and compliance testing.
• Experience supporting regulatory certifications and approvals (e.g., CE, FCC, RED, UL, MIL-STD or equivalent).
• Experience with product qualification, environmental testing and manufacturing transfer.
• Leadership, mentoring or technical project coordination experience.
