Job summary

Pentoz is hiring a Zen Cart Developer for a fully remote role. You will build, maintain, and optimize eCommerce sites using Zen Cart, focusing on secure transactions and scalable customizations. Ideal for developers with PHP-based shopping cart experience.

You will work with clients and internal teams, implement payment gateways and shipping modules, and troubleshoot checkout issues. This role requires 2–5 years hands-on Zen Cart experience and a proactive, remote-friendly mindset.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years hands-on Zen Cart development.
• Solid PHP/MySQL experience for eCommerce sites.
• Experience with Zen Cart core files, overrides and plugins/modules.
• Understanding of order processing, shipping, and taxation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom Zen Cart themes, modules and templates.
• Refactor and optimize Zen Cart code for performance and maintainability.
• Integrate payments (PayPal, Stripe, etc.) and shipping modules.
• Ensure security by applying patches and PCI compliance best practices.
• Develop scripts for data import/export and catalog management.
• Troubleshoot checkout, cart, plugins, or core functionality.
