Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a ServiceNow Discovery SME to act as the platform authority for a large-scale Discovery environment. You will assess system health across MID Servers, discovery schedules, and ECC Queue, translating runbooks into actionable workflows to reduce manual investigation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Hands-on ServiceNow Discovery with MID Servers, Discovery Patterns/Probes, credentials, schedules, ECC Queue.
• Experience with CMDB/CSDM, CIs, identification/reconciliation, relationships, and data quality.
• Infrastructure Engineering knowledge: Linux, Windows Server, compute, virtualization/cloud, authentication, services.
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, ports, SSH, WMI/WinRM, SNMP, HTTP/S.
• Observability tech: Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana.

Responsibilities

• Continuously assess health of the ServiceNow Discovery ecosystem (MID Servers, discovery schedules, throughput, latency, failures).
• Translate runbooks into structured workflows to enable the engineering team and reduce manual investigation.
• Collect and interpret metrics/telemetry to drive engineering improvements.
• Investigate infrastructure attributes and relationships to ensure data quality and successful discovery execution.
