Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a ServiceNow Discovery SME to serve as the platform authority for a large-scale Discovery environment. You will assess system health across MID Servers and discovery schedules, translating runbooks into structured workflows for the engineering team.

The role requires deep infrastructure knowledge across Linux, Windows, and networking, plus hands-on experience with Discovery patterns, probes, and CMDB data quality. Remote work options available.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery, including MID Servers, patterns/probes, credentials and discovery status.
• Experience with CMDB/CSDM, CIs, identification and data quality.
• Practical infra engineering knowledge on Linux/Windows and network troubleshooting.
• Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, SSH, WMI/WinRM, SNMP and HTTP/S.
• Experience with Prometheus, OpenTelemetry and Grafana.

Responsibilities

• Continuously assess the health of the ServiceNow Discovery ecosystem, including MID Servers, discovery schedules/playbooks, and coverage.
• Convert runbooks and troubleshooting procedures into structured workflows to enable the engineering team to reduce manual investigation.
• Regularly collect, aggregate, and interpret metrics from ServiceNow Discovery and monitoring platforms to drive improvements.
• Investigate complex infrastructure attributes to ensure data quality and successful discovery execution.
