Sii Poland is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to help migrate memory-unsafe C/C++ libraries to memory-safe Rust. You will port libraries, create C++ shims, and build Rust FFI wrappers to bridge unsafe legacy code with safe Rust replacements.

This fully remote role in Poland emphasizes deep integration, cross-team collaboration, and careful validation to minimize disruption for downstream users while delivering robust, secure, and high-performance migrations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software development experience with focus on Rust and C++.
• Deep expertise in unsafe code, FFI boundaries, and memory-safe migrations.
• Strong understanding of memory safety, pointer stability, and cross-language interoperability.
• Experience with Bazel/Blaze and dependency management.
• Strong debugging skills across memory and platform-specific builds.
• Able to communicate security-driven changes to stakeholders.
• Advanced level of English.

Responsibilities

• Migrate legacy C/C++ libraries to memory-safe Rust alternatives.
• Build and maintain secure C++ shims and Rust FFI wrappers.
• Drive large-scale refactoring and dependency updates across targets.
• Perform differential testing, validation, and integration testing.
• Evaluate performance and security trade-offs and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Manage cross-team dependencies and review bottlenecks.
• Structure migrations into small, reviewable stacks to streamline approvals.
