Sii Poland is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to migrate legacy C/C++ libraries to memory-safe Rust equivalents and to bridge gaps between unsafe code and modern Rust replacements.

The role focuses on deep integration work, requires strong Rust and C++ skills, and offers a fully remote arrangement across Poland. You will drive large-scale migrations, contribute to secure tooling, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development with Rust and C++.
• Strong expertise in memory-safety migrations and unsafe code.
• Experience with cross-language interoperability and FFI boundaries.
• Advanced level of English.
• Experience with Bazel/Blaze and dependency management.

Responsibilities

• Migrate legacy C/C++ libraries to memory-safe Rust equivalents.
• Build and maintain secure C++ shims and Rust FFI wrappers.
• Drive large-scale refactoring and dependency updates across targets.
• Perform differential testing and extensive integration testing.
• Evaluate performance and security trade-offs and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Manage cross-team dependencies and review bottlenecks.
• Structure migrations into small, reviewable stacks to reduce failures.
