Job summary

Kairos is seeking a leader to launch and manage a portfolio of early-stage, time-bound projects within the AI safety ecosystem. You’ll identify opportunities, move quickly from concept to running programs, and scale successful pilots while growing the team and shaping broader Kairos strategy.

Qualifications

• Experience starting programs, organizations, products, or communities from idea to running
• Ability to ship within weeks rather than quarters
• Understanding of AI safety context and ecosystem needs
• Comfort with changing portfolio as projects launch, hand off, or wind down
• Demonstrates mission alignment with reducing risks from advanced AI

Responsibilities

• Own a small portfolio of early-stage bets and run 1–3 projects from concept to operation
• Evaluate opportunities, build a case for those worth pursuing, act quickly
• Scale successful pilots, build systems for reliable operation, hand off when needed
• Grow the team around the work and manage project staff
• Contribute to Kairos strategy and cross‑cutting work
