AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (Kafka) to own and operate the Kafka estate behind an event-driven platform. You will build, deploy, and monitor the infrastructure powering our integration layer across environments.

The role demands deep Kafka experience (4+ years), strong Linux automation, and hands-on ownership of CI/CD pipelines. You will work with Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, IaC, and AI-assisted development to ensure resilient, auditable event delivery.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on Kafka production experience (4+ years).
• Strong Linux engineering and automation skills (shell, Python).
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and releases.
• Experience with containers (Docker/Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management.
• Knowledge of observability, logging, metrics, and SLOs.

Responsibilities

• Own the Kafka estate: design, partitioning, retention, replication, and broker upgrades.
• Ensure platform resilience and handling of upstream SaaS degradations.
• Implement at-least-once and exactly-once semantics and dead-letter handling.
• Build streaming observability: lag, throughput, tracing, dashboards, alerting.
• Plan capacity and retention for durable logs with audit requirements.
• Develop and integrate vendor-native streaming and data-capture mechanisms.
• Own and evolve build and release pipelines (Jenkins, artifacts, images).
• Operate containerised deployments and runtime estate, incl. upgrades.
• Automate environment provisioning and maintain single source of truth for config.
