Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (Kafka) to own and operate the Kafka estate behind a critical event-driven integration platform. You will design topics, partitions, replication, and retention, ensuring resilience and replayability across the system.

Responsibilities include implementing at-least-once and exactly-once semantics, building streaming observability, and evolving the build/release pipeline with Jenkins, Docker images, and Terraform-based IaC.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on production Kafka experience (4+ years).
• Strong Linux engineering and automation (Python).
• CI/CD ownership, preferably Jenkins declarative pipelines.
• Containers and container orchestration (Docker/Podman, Kubernetes).
• Infrastructure-as-code and configuration management.
• Observability tooling, logs, metrics, alerts, SLOs.

Responsibilities

• Own the Kafka estate: topic design, partitioning, replication, retention, and broker config.
• Ensure platform resilience and replayability of events.
• Implement at-least-once and exactly-once semantics; dead-letter handling.
• Build streaming observability: lag, throughput, tracing, dashboards, alerts.
