Job summary

Ciklum in Poland is seeking a Java Engineer to join a cross-functional development team delivering next-generation backend services. You will work with Java and Kotlin to build, maintain, and scale systems, participate in data migrations, and support a Unified Database transition.

You'll operate in an Agile environment, collaborate with teams across the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Canada, and beyond, own features end-to-end, and help define standards and processes while ensuring production

Qualifications

• Strong coding fundamentals in Java and Kotlin
• Advanced database modeling and migration
• Experience with event-driven architecture
• Track record delivering high-quality software in Agile environments
• Able to work independently and in distributed teams

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and scale backend services using Java and Kotlin
• Implement data migrations and support database transitions
• Write testable code for risk assessment flows and collaborate with compliance
• Contribute to event-driven and microservices architecture
• Own features and track progress, communicating with the Tech Manager
• Participate in workshops and define product features with cross-functional teams
• Contribute to process, design, and engineering practices improvement
• Ensure changes run smoothly in production and are well-proven
