Job summary

Coforge Poland is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to help modernize a data platform for travel and airline clients. You will design, develop and deliver scalable Java-based microservices, aligning with business needs while migrating from a legacy monolith.

Working with Polish and Indian teams in a primarily English‑driven environment, you will own features end‑to‑end, contribute to REST/SOAP APIs, and support containerization and deployment on Google Kubernetes Engine.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience as a Java developer.
• Strong expertise in Core Java 11+ and backend development practices.
• Proven experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
• Hands-on familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes (GKE).
• Experience building and consuming REST and SOAP APIs.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
• Proficiency with Github, Maven, and Jenkins.
• Hands-on experience with JUnit for testing.
• Fluent English (B2/C1) for international collaboration.
• Commitment to TDD, clean code, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive modernization of the legacy monolith into a microservices architecture.
• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based software and components.
• Support containerization and deployment on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) in GCP.
• Own features end-to-end from design to testing and deployment.
• Develop and integrate robust REST and SOAP APIs.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold high engineering standards.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and QA across Poland and India.
• Analyze and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issues.
• Develop automated unit and integration tests (JUnit).
• Support CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and observability using Github, Maven, Jenkins.
