Job summary

Ciklum is seeking a Java Engineer to join our Poland team on a full-time basis. You will build backend services in Java and Kotlin and contribute to data migrations and microservices in an agile setting.

As part of a cross-functional team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Canada and beyond, while delivering high-quality software and driving improvement in engineering practices. Remote options available for Poland-based candidates.

Qualifications

• Strong coding foundations using Java and Kotlin.
• Experience with database modeling and migrations.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and microservices.
• Track record delivering high-quality software in Agile environments.
• Ability to work independently and in distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and scale backend services using Java and Kotlin.
• Implement data migrations and support database transitions.
• Write testable code for risk assessment flows and collaborate with compliance teams.
• Contribute to event-driven microservices architecture and modern software practices.
• Own workstreams, track progress, and communicate outcomes clearly.
• Support changes through to production and drive process improvements.
