Ciklum in Poland is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join a cross-functional team and shape the backbone of our core platform. You will drive architectural decisions, lead complex API orchestration, and deliver high-quality software in an agile environment.

You will work with distributed teams across multiple countries, own workstreams, and contribute to processes and engineering practices. The role offers strong growth, learning opportunities, and the possibility for full remote work.

Qualifications

• Solid grounding in Java (and Kotlin) and modern backend practices.
• Experience with event-driven systems and microservices.
• Strong Agile experience (Scrum/Kanban) and delivery discipline.
• Ability to work independently and in distributed cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive backend architectural decisions for the core platform backbone
• Lead complex third-party vendor API orchestration and integration
• Design robust sync/async event-driven API structures ensuring regulatory adherence
• Be passionate about Event-Driven and Microservices Architecture
• Code, maintain and deploy quality code within an Agile environment
• Collaborate across teams in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Canada and beyond
• Own workstreams and communicate progress to the Technology Manager
• Propose and implement new processes and engineering practices to improve the team
