Job summary

StrongSD GmbH is seeking a backend engineer with a deep understanding of distributed systems to join our team in Poland. You will design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable services in Java/Spring, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions from concept to deployment.

You will work across the stack, from backend services to infrastructure components like load balancers and Kubernetes, write maintainable code, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Java and Spring.
• Proven track record shipping production-grade systems in cloud environments.
• Experience with distributed systems and messaging frameworks like Apache Kafka (AWS MSK).
• Strong containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes; deployment workflows.
• Familiarity with observability tools and incident response best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable backend services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Work across stack from backend to infrastructure components like ALB/NLB and Kubernetes.
• Own projects, driving architecture, design, and implementation decisions.
• Write clean, tested Java code; contribute Python automation when needed.
• Monitor production systems, respond to incidents, and improve reliability and performance.
• Participate in on-call rotations and code reviews; mentor junior engineers.
