Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Back End Developer to design, build, and optimize server-side systems and APIs that power AI products. This is a fully remote, hourly contract role with flexible hours and project-based work.

You will implement robust data pipelines, microservices, and scalable infrastructure, write clean, documented code, and collaborate asynchronously with distributed teams. Experience with REST, databases, cloud services, and containerization is essential.

Qualifications

• Proficient in one or more back end languages (Python, Go, Java, Node.js, Rust).
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Comfortable with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiar with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and asynchronous collaboration.
• Strong problem-solving and independent debugging skills.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust back end services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Build scalable server-side architecture to support AI workloads.
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following best practices.
• Integrate with databases, queues, cloud services, and third-party APIs.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability as usage grows.
• Collaborate asynchronously with distributed teams of engineers and researchers.
• Troubleshoot production issues, review code, and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Work independently on task-based and project-based assignments.
