Job summary

Alignerr is seeking Back End Developers for a fully remote hourly contract to design, build, and optimize server-side systems, data pipelines, and APIs powering AI products.

Ideal candidates will be proficient in Python, Go, Java, Node.js, or Rust, with strong RESTful API design and distributed systems experience, and comfortable with cloud platforms and containerization. Flexible hours, 10–40 hours/week, remote work available.

Qualifications

• Proficient in one or more back end languages (Python, Go, Java, Node.js, Rust).
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Comfortable with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiar with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to design, build, and optimize backend systems and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust back end services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Build scalable server-side architecture to support AI training and inference workloads.
• Write clean, well-documented, testable code following engineering best practices.
• Integrate with databases, message queues, cloud services, and third-party APIs.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability as usage grows.
• Collaborate asynchronously with distributed teams of engineers, researchers, and product leads.
• Troubleshoot production issues, review code, and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Work independently on task-based and project-based assignments on your own schedule.
