Job summary

American School of Warsaw is seeking an ES PYP Art Teacher for the Elementary School division. The role reports to the ES Principal and requires full-time commitment.

The teacher will deliver PYP-aligned visual arts instruction, plan collaboratively, and foster a studio-based, student-centered classroom environment. Ideal candidates hold a teaching certification, experience with PK3-Grade 5, and demonstrate capacity to work with diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Teaching certification from an accredited institution and a minimum two years of experience in teaching this subject area.
• PYP Category 1 training and PYP teaching experience preferred.
• TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behaviors) and Choice-Based Art approaches encouraged.
• Experience teaching children aged 3-11 (PK3-Grade 5).
• Demonstrates understanding of the school curriculum and can plan/teach within the PYP framework.
• Awareness of child development and diverse learners including EAL and Learning Support.
• Provides timely feedback and uses a data-driven approach to teaching and learning.
• Uses a wide range of technologies and instructional approaches.
• Maintains up-to-date records of planning and assessments; monitors progress and adjusts instruction accordingly.
• Collaborates with grade-level teachers to develop a transdisciplinary PYP Program of Inquiry.
• Creates a student-centered, studio-based classroom conducive to learning.
• Attends planning and staff meetings contributing to a culture of healthy professional teaming.
• Enthusiastic and resourceful in creating meaningful learning experiences.
• Positive and collaborative member of the school community.
