Project Manager, Manufacturing Operations

Position summary
Our client is looking for a Project Manager to support the planning and execution of manufacturing and operational projects within a structured Project Management Office.
The successful candidate will manage project plans, resources, budgets, risks, testing, validation, go-live activities, and stakeholder communication. The role will work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in alignment with organizational objectives.
Main responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of small to large-scale projects, including scope definition, requirements analysis, resource planning, technical development, testing, validation, and go-live support.
- Develop and maintain master project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and project documentation.
- Monitor project performance, metrics, costs, timelines, and expected outcomes while preparing dashboards and regular progress reports for PMO and business leaders.
- Ensure compliance with PMO governance, quality requirements, regulatory expectations, security requirements, and established project management methodologies.
- Coordinate cross-functional and inter-site teams across Operations, Quality, Finance, IT, Human Resources, Engineering, and other business functions.
- Lead change management, risk mitigation, issue escalation, project reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and the development of project management tools and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Psychology, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree or MBA is considered an asset.
- 4 to 6 years of project management experience, including experience leading multiple cross-functional or inter-site projects.
- Significant experience with manufacturing operations, facilities, project planning, resource management, budget tracking, and operational performance.
- Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder engagement, cross-cultural collaboration, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to present complex information clearly to executive and operational audiences.
- Project management certification or formal training, such as PMP, is strongly preferred. Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma certification and experience in medical-device or another regulated environment are considered assets.
- The successful candidate should be collaborative, organized, ethical, results-oriented, and comfortable influencing teams across different functions, regions, and organizational levels.
