Job summary

ALTEN Polska is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (Backend-Weighted) for remote work from Poland. You will deliver end-to-end features across events applications, owning code from design to deployment, and ensuring reliability through monitoring and fixes.

You will break down requirements with the Product Manager, model data, optimize queries, and manage integrations with Salesforce, payments, messaging, and real-time channels.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level backend development in Ruby on Rails.
• Strong relational database modeling, storage, querying and optimization.
• Experience hosting and operating web applications in production with monitoring and incidents.
• CI/CD, automated testing, linting, and code review as standard practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end features across events applications, owning the code from design to deployment, monitoring, and fixes.
• Break down requirements with the Product Manager into deliverable increments and flag potential risks early.
• Own data modeling, query optimization, indexing, and migrations, ensuring performance as data volumes grow.
• Manage integrations with Salesforce, payment providers, asynchronous messaging, and real-time client delivery channels.
• Design, debug, and troubleshoot cross-system flows, ensuring reliability and data consistency.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain production systems, including observability, alerting, and platform upgrades.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver end-to-end features across events applications, owning the code from design to deployment, monitoring, and fixes.
• Break down requirements with the Product Manager into deliverable increments and flag potential risks early.
• Own data modeling, query optimization, indexing, and migrations, ensuring performance as data volumes grow.
• Manage integrations with Salesforce, payment providers, asynchronous messaging, and real-time client delivery channels.
• Design, debug, and troubleshoot cross-system flows, ensuring reliability and data consistency.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain production systems, including observability, alerting, and platform upgrades.

Requirements;

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on autonomous problem-solving in ambiguous, cross-system environments.
• Expert-level backend development in modern stacks (Ruby, Ruby on Rails)
• Mastery of relational databases, including modeling, storage, querying, and performance optimization (indexing, migrations).
• Experience hosting and operating web applications in production, including releases, observability, and incident response.
• Strong engineering mindset: CI/CD, automated testing, linting, and code review as standard practice.
