Job description

Own and grow the Canyon product portfolio across EMEA. Translate Canyon's positioning - stylish yet affordable accessories and wearables for young, urban, trend-driven and mindful consumers - into a profitable, competitive and compliant portfolio: define what Canyon sells, at what cost, price and margin, and why the consumer chooses it over the competing brand on the same shelf, across distribution, retail, marketplace and e-commerce channels.

Main areas of responsibility
  • Own the Canyon product strategy for EMEA: category architecture, good / better / best tiering, price-point ladder by market, target revenue and gross-profit share per category, and documented category entry and exit decisions.
  • Own market, competitive and consumer intelligence as the basis of every portfolio decision: category and consumer trends, competitor pricing, features, launches, shelf and marketplace position by category and market, converted into roadmap, pricing, channel and content actions with owners and dates.
  • Own the product roadmap and product definition: maintain the rolling 18-24 month roadmap and issue the brief for every new SKU - target consumer and channel, specification, target landed cost, retail price and gross margin, certification, launch window and volume - including the Hexagon premium series and technologies such as OnMag.
  • Own product cost, price and portfolio gross margin: landed-cost model per SKU, realised vs target margin by SKU, market and channel, the cause of every material deviation, and pricing and margin decision packages for approval.
  • Manage the budget and costs of the product function: team cost and headcount plan, department budget and development funds, third-party services (design, testing, laboratories, agencies), certification, tooling and sampling spend - planned vs committed vs actual, supported by supplier documentation and with no commitment beyond the approved budget.
  • Lead sourcing and supplier management with Procurement: supplier and ODM qualification, dual sourcing on core running lines, negotiation of cost, commercial conditions, tooling, MOQ, lead time, quality and warranty terms, and supplier performance reviews.
  • Own product life-cycle management end to end: stage gates from concept to end of life, replacements timed so they do not create excess stock, and scheduled assortment reviews to remove non-performing SKUs and control SKU proliferation.
  • Own the channel strategy for the portfolio: assortment and pack differentiation by channel (distribution, retail, e-tail, marketplaces, e-commerce, B2B) to protect price integrity, price architecture and margin waterfall per channel and market, and listing, range-review and delisting logic with Sales and Marketing.
  • Develop the go-to-market model per launch and market tier: positioning and reason to buy, launch pricing and promotional guardrails, channel sequencing and priority accounts, sell-out targets, launch readiness (content, Mediabank and marketplace assets, ERP master data, sales enablement), and post-launch review against the committed case.
  • Own the supply system for the portfolio: (1) demand forecasting by SKU, market and month; (2) production planning with suppliers and inbound logistics planning to the central distribution centre and local warehouses; (3) stock cover, replenishment and rotation; and the strategy and tactics for old stock, including costed clearance, repricing, transfer or write-off proposals.
  • Guarantee product compliance and quality: no SKU placed on a market without the required certification, documentation and labelling (CE, UKCA, RoHS, REACH, WEEE, radio, battery, packaging), and control of failure, return and warranty cost with supplier corrective action and cost recovery.
  • Lead and develop the product management team: hiring and onboarding, category ownership and measurable objectives, performance management, coaching, training and development plans, succession cover for every category, and enforcement of agreed deadlines and standards.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration: chair the product and life-cycle governance forum with decision and change logs, and drive outcomes in a matrix with Marketing, Sales and country management, Purchasing and Planning, Logistics, Finance, Legal and Quality.
Candidate profile
  • Senior product leadership experience in consumer electronics accessories, peripherals or a comparable branded consumer hardware category, accountable for portfolio revenue, gross margin, product cost, budget and inventory health, not product marketing alone.
  • Proven own-brand or private-label track record: product definition through ODM sourcing in Asia, cost and tooling negotiation, certification and launch. Distribution or reselling of third-party brands is not a substitute.
  • Experience building and growing a consumer portfolio across multiple countries, ideally in EMEA, across distribution, retail, marketplace and e-commerce channels.
  • Strong command of the full product discipline: portfolio and category strategy, product definition and specification, landed-cost and margin modelling, price architecture, lifecycle and assortment management, forecasting and inventory health.
  • Working knowledge of EU and adjacent-market product compliance (CE, UKCA, RoHS, REACH, WEEE, radio, battery and packaging regulations) and of product quality, warranty and claims management.
  • Data-driven and commercially minded: comfortable linking product decisions to sell-out, margin, stock cover and return on investment, and operating within approved budgets and approval limits.
  • Proven line management of a product or category management team (four or more product managers): hiring, objective setting, performance management, development and succession, plus ownership of the team cost and department budget.
  • Advanced practical use of ERP and PIM / PLM systems and advanced Excel; comfortable working with large SKU-level data sets.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; fluent English (additional EMEA languages an advantage). Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis, including supplier and factory visits.
  • Understanding of a young, urban, trend- and value-driven target audience and of a smart-consumption, inclusive and eco-aware brand ethos.
We offer:
  • Opportunity to work for a financially strong, fast-growing multinational company.
  • Constant interaction with global teams of professionals
  • International career opportunities
  • Access to continuous professional development: training, certification programs, events, and team buildings
  • Competitive salary package and motivation scheme
