Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced DevOps/Platform Engineer to own and evolve the central DevOps practice. You will design and operate CI/CD pipelines, standardize deployment patterns, and codify infrastructure across on-premise and Azure AKS environments.

You will lead the build-out of Kubernetes infrastructure, containerize legacy workloads, and implement automation across the delivery lifecycle with strong governance and observability.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience designing and owning end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, including blue-green and canary deployments.
• Strong production experience building and operating Kubernetes on-premise and in the cloud (Azure AKS).
• Ability to stand up and operate Kubernetes clusters at scale in hybrid environments.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, ARM/Bicep).
• Knowledge of Azure networking, security, cost-aware architecture, and TLS offload.

Responsibilities

• Establish and own a central DevOps and platform engineering practice.
• Own CI/CD and platform standards across the estate.
• Design, build, and own central CI/CD pipelines with governance and self-service delivery.
• Standardise build, test, release, and rollback patterns including blue-green and canary deployments.
• Codify infrastructure and configuration as code.
• Embed automated quality, security, and compliance gates into pipelines.
• Establish observability, monitoring, and alerting as core platform capabilities.
• Lead Kubernetes infrastructure design on-premise and Azure AKS.
• Containerise workloads and migrate to automated container platform.
• Apply scalable architecture patterns for data, caching, and TLS offload.
• Deliver automatic horizontal scaling based on demand.
• Validate implementations through lab, PoCs, limited production, and migration stages.
• Act as platform owner and technical authority for DevOps.
