Job summary

DCG Poland is seeking a Mainframe Operational Support Specialist to handle incidents, perform problem management, and monitor workloads using SDSF and TSO/ISPF. You will work with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, IMS and Base SAS, and adapt to new tools within a dynamic operational environment.

Strong analytical skills and extensive mainframe experience are required, with excellent English communication. The role offers ongoing consultant support from a DCG partner and opportunities to engage in

Qualifications

• Proven experience in incident handling and problem management.
• Strong analytical skills for incident analysis and troubleshooting.
• Deep understanding of mainframe technologies: COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, IMS.
• Hands-on experience with Base SAS.
• Knowledge of TSO/ISPF and SDSF for dataset browsing and system output monitoring.
• Experience with OPC/TWS.
• Experience with Abend-AID and File-AID for defect investigation and resolution.
• Ability to learn new tools and adapt to evolving technologies.
• Very good command of English, both spoken and written.
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies.
• Familiarity with Agile ways of working.
• Experience with cloud integration and mainframe modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Handle incidents in the mainframe environment and drive their resolution.
• Perform problem management activities and support root cause analysis.
• Analyze incidents and identify corrective actions.
• Monitor system output using SDSF.
• Browse and investigate datasets using TSO/ISPF.
• Support defect diagnosis and resolution using Abend-AID and File-AID.
• Operate and monitor workloads using OPC/TWS.
• Work with mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, IMS and Base SAS.
• Adapt to new tools and technologies used within the operational support environment.
