Job summary

GE Renewable Energy in Katowice is seeking an engineer for primary technology in high‑voltage switchgear. You will work in international teams on transformer station technology across on-/offshore, AIS/GIS, and renewables for grid operators and industrial clients.

You will develop HV project solutions (110kV–380kV), create layouts and specifications, and coordinate with project staff, customers and suppliers to ensure quality, cost and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in electrical engineering with energy focus.
• Experience in high/extra-high voltage project planning and management.
• Proven ability to produce technical plans and documentation.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Primtech or REVIT and BIM tools.
• Fluent English and strong teamwork capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Independently developing solutions for HV projects (110kV–380kV).
• Coordinate interfaces and produce documentation with CAD tools.
• Draft floor plans, plant layouts and construction specs.
• Clarify data and interfaces in coordination meetings with stakeholders.

Job Description Summary Are you a passionate engineer (all genders) of primary technology for high-voltage switchgear and want to contribute to the energy transition and security of supply? Then you've come to the right place!

At our locations in Katowice, our primary planners work in international teams on the entire range of transformer station technology in the fields of On- & Offshore, AIS- & GIS plants, and renewable energies for grid operators, energy suppliers, and industrial customers.

Responsibilities

• Independently developing solutions for projects in the high-voltage sector (110kV – 380kV), coordinating constructive interfaces, and creating documentation with AutoCAD, Primtech, and/or REVIT (2D/3D)
• Projecting, among other things, floor plans, plant layouts, sections, site plans, construction specifications including mechanical calculations, and remodeling concepts
• Obtaining the required technical plant data and configurations and clarifying interfaces in coordination meetings with project staff, customers, and suppliers
• Communicating within the project team and to management about noticeable deviations in quality, goals, costs, and deadlines
• Collaborating in project teams with responsibility for sub-projects

Qualifications

• Dipl.-Ing. or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, ideally with a focus on Energy Technology
• Several years of professional experience in primary technical planning, project management, and implementation of projects in the field of high and extra-high voltage lines (110kV – 380kV) is required
• Very good knowledge of software & tools such as AutoCAD, Primtech, REVIT, BIM, MS Office, and Windows is desirable
• Strong analytical and solution-oriented mindset
• Team player with strong communication skills
• Fluent English
