Job summary

Nix is seeking a Lead DevOps / Observability Engineer to guide the migration of the client’s observability stack from New Relic and Datadog to Grafana, leveraging Grafana dashboards, Prometheus, Loki and Tempo across multiple environments and teams.

This hands-on role combines DevOps and platform engineering (deploying AWS/EKS and Terraform), application instrumentation to add metrics, logs and traces, and migration coordination to rebuild dashboards and alerts with minimal disruption while

Responsibilities

Lead the migration of monitoring, alerting, and dashboards from New Relic and Datadog to Grafana.
Design and implement the target observability architecture (metrics, logs, traces) and the Terraform-based IaC.
Audit dashboards, alerts, and integrations to ensure feature parity and full coverage in Grafana.
Modify application code to instrument metrics, logs, and traces across services.
Deploy and operate the observability stack on AWS (EKS) with Kubernetes and Docker.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to support rollout and cutover with minimal disruption.
Coordinate with multiple teams to align migration timelines and security practices.
