Job summary

ipracujzdalnie.pl is seeking an experienced Principal Go Engineer to drive architecture and delivery for a high‑volume distributed data platform. You will own design decisions, performance, reliability and lead multi‑team initiatives in a production environment.

The role emphasizes mentorship, hands-on Go development, and collaboration with architects, DevOps and product teams across Europe. Remote work is supported across Europe with standard hours.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software development
• 5+ years programming in Go
• Experience in Staff/Principal Engineer or similar role
• Ownership of complex production systems
• High-availability distributed systems expertise
• Experience with large-scale event/data platforms
• Advanced Go skills (concurrency, memory, profiling)
• Knowledge of partitioning, replication, eventual consistency, retries and failure handling
• Experience with Apache Kafka or equivalent
• Strong REST API design and microservice architecture
• Advanced SQL with PostgreSQL
• Production exposure to Docker and Kubernetes
• Distributed systems troubleshooting
• Observability, security and reliable software delivery knowledge
• Clear architectural decision communication
• Excellent English skills

Responsibilities

• Design scalable and fault-tolerant Go backend services.
• Build high-performance data ingestion and processing pipelines.
• Design event-driven architecture using Kafka.
• Define service boundaries and data flows between components.
• Make architecture decisions for scalability, availability and disaster recovery.
• Analyze performance, concurrency, and reliability issues in production.
• Optimize Go services for CPU, memory and networking.
• Raise coding standards, testing and observability practices.
• Lead complex initiatives spanning teams and components.
• Mentor engineers and support technical decision-making.
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps and product teams.
• Engage in incident analysis and resolution.
